The birthday season continues and this time I went for an even crazier timepiece with the Astronomia Sky by Jacob Co.

This tourbillon watch is indeed pretty bold not only in terms of its size and volume, but mechanically speaking there is a lot of things happening in it.

Obviously this is not your most discreet watch, but nevertheless I find it cool that some do dare to produce such eccentric timepieces, yet another example of proper watchmaking creativity and craft.

The comprises of no less than 400 components and despite the intense activity going on in it, this watch still bares a power reserve of 60 hours.

Astronomia Tourbillon Watch.

The new for 2014 Jacob Co.

Astronomia Tourbillon with a tourbillon and various astronomical complications.

ASTRONOMIA TOURBILLON.

The Astronomia Tourbillon is a truly unique, groundbreaking timepiece that elevates the art of watchmaking above the Earth, above time.

Combining the highest level of Swiss timepiece craftsmanship and the horological decorative arts to create a watch that is a poetic visual rendering of the celestial world with every element in constant, visible motion, all under the control of the oscillator at the heart of the three-axis tourbillon with an orbital display of the hours and minutes.

If seeing an Astronomia in person is something that most human watch aficionados can only dream of, wearing one must be a dream come true.

Well, I actually got to wear three.

During this review of Astronomia watches from Jacob Co, I got to play with three different models The Astronomia Tourbillon, the Triangular Baguette Astronomia, and the Astronomia Solar Planets.

Founded Jacob Arabo and watchmaker Luca Soprana really hit horological home runs with these Astronomia models.

The Jacob Co Astronomia Tourbillon.

Amazingly water resistant to 30 meters, the three-axis tourbillon is a celestial masterpiece.

The movement is totally exposed through a beautiful, sapphire dome, and displays a rotating magnesium Planet Earth in orbit a full rotation occurs in 20 minutes .

Actually, the entire movement is rotating in space.

On the other side of our planet is a 1 carat diamond ball with an incredible 288 facets.

The diamond was sculpted from an actual 4 carat diamond rock.

truly an amazing watch.

Case size 50 mm Retail price 540,000.

Triangular Baguette Astronomia.

This Baguette Astronomia model has the same specs as the tourbillon model I covered before, but with the addition of a whopping 24 carats of custom-set, triangular cut baguettes on the dial set in a triangular pattern.

Case size 50 mm Retail price 1,300,000.

Astronomia Solar Planets.

If there ever existed a daily wearer in the Astronomia line, it would be the Astronomia Solar in my opinion due to it s slightly lower profile and smaller case.

This design is a little different than the other two.

To start off, it doesn t have the triple-axis tourbillon and features a rotating sun in the middle of the movement.

All the planet are natural, precious stones.

Case size 44.

5 mm Retail price 280,000.

So how do you feel about the Jacob Co line of Astronomia watches, as well as the Tourbillon, Triangular Baguette and Solar that I reviewed on this video.
